Advisors & Faculty
We understand that study abroad advisors and faculty members play a key role in a student’s study abroad experience. So, to help you better serve students at your institution, we’re providing you with a one stop shop for your most common needs.
We’ve found most study abroad offices need information on:
- Accreditation
Deree is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education — easing the process of course credit transfer back to the student’s home institution.
Students must submit the required application documents. We advise prospective students to talk to the study abroad officer at their home institution during this process. - Visa
One of the first steps students will complete in the process of studying abroad will be applying for a student visa. The Office of International Student Services guides students through the visa application process. Once a student has been accepted, they must submit to us the documents listed in the detailed Student Visa Application Instructions. When all documents have been received, the college will obtain approval for a visa on the student’s behalf. Once approved, the Office of International Student Services will send the student the paperwork they will need to submit to their local Greek Consulate.
Please see Student Visa Applications Instructions for details on this visa process. - Housing
Study abroad students live in ACG’s spacious residence complexes a short walk from campus. Standard accommodations include two students sharing a bedroom in a furnished apartment. Meals are self-catered. A grocery store is conveniently located just down the block. Students can choose upgrades such as a single bedroom or studio based on availability. Contact the Office of International Student Services at iss@acg.edu for more details. - Course Selection
With 34 majors, 6 cooperative study programs with Clarkson University, 50 minors, and over 1,000 courses offered each year, ACG provides students with plenty of courses to choose from in business, fine arts, humanities, social sciences, communication — and more! Please refer to our complete course listing and course descriptions to assist students with course selections. - Pre-registration
After students send us the visa documents, we’ll send them a Course Registration Form. In the meantime, students should work with an advisor at their home institution to ensure that the courses they wish to take at ACG are approved for transfer back to the home institution. Please refer to our complete course listing and course descriptions to assist students with course selections. - Payment
Our semester comprehensive study abroad fee covers up to 15 credit hours of tuition, housing, fees and three excursions within Greece. The summer sessions and term cover up to six credit hours, and one excursion within Greece. Orientation, faculty support, visa support, and full access to facilities are all included.
